WeeCare
Residential Services
Wee Care Residential Crisis Service is funded by the Department of Communities. The service provides emergency accommodation, respite care and emergency day care for boys and girls aged birth to 11 years of age. It is available for parents who are faced with an emergency and have been unable to arrange alternative care for their children. The Residential service was established to provide a safe place for children in a ‘suburban' style residential facility.
Wee Care also offers:
Emergency Relief Funding
As a result of funding from the Australian Government, Wee Care is able to provide limited assistance to families in crisis. Emergency Relief is available in the form of food parcels and vouchers. However, due to the limits of this funding, relief is only available to families with children and should not be relied upon.
Shared Family Care
“Every child is unique. There are no two children in foster care who look the same, feel the same, behave in the same way, or have the same talents and abilities. One of the joys of fostering is that every child presents a new challenge, even for the most experienced carers, and every child has the capacity to grow and to change and to reach their potential, and the rewards for carers of seeing children and young people progress whilst in their care are immense. The challenges are immense and the impact on family life is not to be underestimated.
However carers with Shared Family Care are well supported by a team of staff who will all work together with you to help you to face the challenge. Sometimes the largest burdens are carried by the smallest children and nothing that you do for any child is wasted”.
Shared Family Care is one of the programs offered by Wee Care Family Inc. Wee Care Family Incorporated also offers Wee Care, a residential care facility and emergency relief funding. Wee Care Family Incorporated is a non-Government community organisation overseen by a Management Committee.
